Police have received a report of a DVLA phone scam where a call is received stating the direct debt has ceased so the vehicle registered at the address is no longer road legal. The phone call then offers a number of option to rectify the problem. The person is advised to pay over the phone.
Police advise that if you are the registered owner of a vehicle DVLA will not contact you other than to tax the vehicle and they supply a code for tax to be put on the vehicle.
